2012 Christmas Cantata: Home for Christmas (Dec. 9)

ChristmasAtHome2012

Invite your friends and family to our Christmas Cantata, Home for Christmas, on Sunday evening, December 9th.

This cantata by Ron and Shelly Hamilton is set during the Civil War era. Home for Christmas is the story of Emmanuel McLaw, a young Christian who leaves home to become a drummer boy but promises his mother he’ll be home in time for Christmas. After being injured in battle, Manny’s “homecoming” does not happen quite as he planned. You will be encouraged and blessed!

Christmas Cantata

The Fellowship choir will present The Richest Family in Town on Sunday, December 11th at 10:30am.

This touching story about a single mother raising three children in 1949 stands in stark contrast to the materialism surrounding many modern-day Christmas celebrations. Though the drama is fictional, it is based on actual people from Frank Garlock’s childhood. He came from a poor family of nine children who sold their grandmother’s homemade fudge to help support the family. To reinforce the story, this program includes traditional Christmas songs as well as new compositions by Frank Garlock and Ron Hamilton.
